My dog (3.5 year old Male) has always loved my roommate as much as anybody, but usually is relatively clingy towards me. But the last two evenings, he has been staring at her from the hallway (she keeps her door open but he's not allowed in there because that's where the cat food is) just non-stop. Eventually we got so unsettled by it that we just shut the door, but he just curls up in front of her door instead. In addition, he's been unusually slow to respond to my calls and becomes restless. I exercise him regularly at the dog park where he gets social and physical stimulation every day. He is eating and drinking normally and is fine during the rest of the day, but his nighttime behaviors are putting us all on edge. It's really not like him. Can anyone give me advice or at least assure me if it's normal?
Edit: He's also panting much more than normal when this happens.
