Hey, there! So, I really need some help. My sister adopted a stray kitten some years ago (maybe 5 ish), we used to have a big dog (which had to be put down bc of an illness from his old age).
They never got along, when the cat was brought a couple of years later (she lived in another house with my sister) and they had their first encounter, she made sure to let him know she didn't like dogs. AT ALL.
After 8 months, we got a new puppy (male), of a small breed. Ofc he loooves to play (he is 2.5 months old), and when he sees the cat. He either runs after her (and we stop him bc she attacked him once already), or he stares and barks at her while she is on an upper furniture piece.
We have no idea how to help them to get along, so we can let him be a bit more free, like play around with no supervision 24/7 and that.
We have tried to pet the cat while holding the puppy on the other side or so, but as soon as he gets hands off, he goes after her. Some advice please? Thanks all!!
Edit. Meant queen cat bc she has been living like a queen since she got here (2nd floor) . And our old dog was the king, but while living in the lower floor.
