I've had my cat Loki for about 8 years now. He's always been well behaved, I've always played with him and tried to keep him stimulated, and we've been pretty happy roommates.
About 2 years ago, I moved into a house with 2 other housemates to save money. One wasn't a huge fan of him, the other was a fan, but was just mostly tolerant of him. He got lonely, and started picking up some bad habits with them.
After 2 years, we finally made it out and got our own place again. The issue is that at some point for some reason, Loki realized that if he just put his teeth on someone (he's never intentionally scratched or bitten anyone), he'd get a jerk reaction, and attention.
Loki isn't ignored. We play, off and on, every single evening I'm here. And I've tried everything i can think of to get him to stop. I've tried ignoring him as best I can when he does it (the jump reaction is involuntary). I've tried intentionally playing with him more and trying to tire him out. I've tried treats when he's asking for attention in other ways, I've tried isolating him when he does the action, but he doesn't seem to take to any of it.
Does anyone have any tips for starting to wean him off this behavior? I'm at the end of my rope.
