I have a habit of adopting dogs from shelters, and the first time I encountered 24PetWatch it seemed like a pretty good and neat idea. "Oh, great! If my pet should ever wander off or get lost, they can scan his microchip and then they'll give me a call!"
That was before I figured out the details of the scam, and that the first year is free but after that, you either have to keep making payments to 24PetWatch or give them $79 to get your pet's microchip data "away" from them.

Are there no better alternatives than that wretched company?
I hate to think of how filthy they must be, rolling in money taken from pet owners. Almost as bad as car insurance.
