I have a cat who is a little over 5 years old that is indoor only. My girlfriend has a younger dog ~2 years old who currently lives a peaceful life in a house with a cat. Right now, my girlfriend brings her dog with her when she stays at my house, which is usually twice a week. Girlfriend's dog wants nothing more than to be best friends with my cat, but cat is not super in to it. She either hides out on her cat tower or she'll run into her escape room (dog can't get in). Has anyone had any luck socializing their cat when the visits are sporadic? My cat has gotten to the point where she has tolerated a dog in the past (I babysat a beagle for a week and by the end they could sit on opposite sides of the couch), but this dog is a good deal bigger and a bit more excitable. It should be noted, that the dog has shown zero signs of hostility towards the cat. All the online guides seem to be more geared for animals living in the same house. Any help or advice is appreciated!
