Hi all, my 10 month American Akita has been blowing his coat recently. Lots of fluff everywhere, but it seems to have made his skin a bit dry. He’s not had any issues before with his skin, but there are some little crusty bits of skin on his legs at the moment and then this sore showed up on his foot about 2 weeks ago overnight. We immediately sprayed the sore with antiseptic spray daily and it has healed over into a scab now, but does anyone have any idea what this could have been? He’s not been to the vet regarding this yet as the vet is a while away and it didn’t seem to be bothering him much or getting worse, but I was wondering if anyone here has seen anything similar on their dogs.
