Not sure where to post this and was thinking about r/advice but felt like I would get better advice in r/pets.
I have a cat who just turned 17 and was diagnosed diabetes. I'm currently giving him insulin shots twice a day for the last week. He's also on a UTI antibiotic. I've noticed that he's been wobbly when walking and not the same as he was a couple of weeks ago. The vet says he's not suffering and it's treatable but I'm not sure if the vet is just prolonging the inevitable. My cats urinating like crazy and getting litter all over his paws and dragging it everywhere - which I don't mind cleaning at all. He's been having diarrhea and gets it all over himself and has been tracking that through my place.
I'm not sure what quality of life he's having and have been following the vets direction but I feel like I'm being unfair to my cat because I'm not sure how happy he is. My partner says to let him run his course but I don't want him to suffer. I totally don't know what to do and wish that my cat could just tell me what the best thing to do is.
Any advice would help at this point!
