Not sure if this quite belongs here, but it's something that's been on my mind since last night.
I forget sometimes that ultimately, cats are predators. I forget because every day I open a can of cat food for my pudgy guy, and he's not an outdoor cat by any means so I never get "presents". Well, last night, there was a mouse in my room. He chased the poor thing around while I tried to get him to stop. My hope was that I could possibly grab the mouse and put him outside, but my cat was too quick and got him.
It's really hard for me because on the one hand, I understand the circle of life. I mean, being mousers Was The main reason that humans domesticated cats in the first place. But on the other hand, I felt so horrible for the mouse. He was running desperately for his life.
I know it sounds silly but I just needed to vent here, in case anyone else understands.
