Will kittens be happier/healthier if I adopt them in pairs?

Hi everyone! I'm just hoping to learn some more about cats. I'm moving to a new apartment in December and will finally have the space and financial ability to support my own cat. My parents have had cats who I've grown up with, so I know how to physically take care of a cat already.

I'm starting to lean towards the idea of adopting two sibling kittens. The shelters around me often have mom cat + her kittens that were rescued. Would the kittens be happier if I adopted a pair of them? I'm obviously going to have to work during the day, so I'm wondering if they'll be better off since they can play with each other while I'm gone. I've heard this helps them become less aggressive and more social, but I'm curious if anyone else has done something similar. Let me know what you think.
