Hi everyone,
I just bought a new tank from Pets at Home at the weekend, had it set up since Saturday evening (now Monday dinner time) and they said on Saturday that the tank needed to be cycled over night before we put fish in.
We bought the fish today and he's adjusting to the water temp, still in the bag they gave us, but now the water in the tank is cloudy.
I've looked online and it says that cloudy water is an indicator that the tank hadn't completed cycling and that it is dangerous to put fish in, and yet the assistant at Pets at Home said it would be fine after one night.
We also have an axolotl (different tank) and I've done an ammonia test on the new tropical tank using the axolotl's test kit which came back clear.
Any advice on what to do? Will it be safe to release the fish?
