Hey everyone, I am going to move abroad in a month or two, and I of course want to bring my cat with me. The issue is, she is very nervous and absolutely hates change. She has been living with me for about 3.5 years so she knows this house, yet she still freaked out a bit when she got locked up in the bathroom while I was showering today. Even me talking to her did not stop her nervous meowing until my mom was able to open the door and let her out. I know she is very bonded to me and would probably seriously miss me, but I am wondering whether it is worth it to put her through such a long period of air travel, knowing how anxious she is. She also has a separation anxiety, and the very few times she has been left alone for a maximum of 4 days, she has been really scared and hides from us when we come back. She does not take well to pretty much any changes in her life.
Has anyone had experiences travelling with very anxious cats? Is it better for me to leave her behind? She'd stay with my parents and will be cared for and in her own environment, but it will be heartbreaking. She is fine with my family, but she is bonded more to me than to them.
