My 4ish y/o shepsky had conjunctivitis last year during the spring. It was treated with antibiotics and largely went away on its own. But since then, he has always had an insane amount of eye boogers. I feel like I'm cleaning them out at least 3 or 4 times a day from both eyes. For the most part, we have no problems with him letting me touch his face - I get that typical teenage boy response of "oh my gosh mom, not in front of my friends!" and he tries to run off.
I know that excessive amount of eye boogers isn't worth a trip to the vet, or even a post in r/AskVet, but I wanted to know if anyone else has a similar problem (non-breed specific, I'm sure all you hound owners wish it were just 3 or 4 times a day.) But how do you handle it? Do you use any products that help with it? Do you just let it go and let them get it when it bothers them? I'm certainly not losing sleep over some sleepies, but I am curious about how other owners deal with it.
