Cat and Dog "playing"?

I have a 1.5 month old female Dog and an 8 month old male Cat at my house, The dog is a Bichon Frise-Yorkie Mix and about 6-8 pounds, the Cat is a cat and about 10-12 pounds. They were introduced when the dog was 11 weeks old, we kept them separated for the first few weeks and now it seems like they get along pretty well, they'll lay down near each other, and they share a water fountain without issue. They tried to eat each others food but it never got beyond barking until we found a way to keep their food separate.

The issue is the way they play, and ironically I'm more concerned with how rough the cat is than the dog, the cat will tackle and pin the dog and go between gentle biting around the neck and furious licking, I never noticed him take his claws out, hiss or growl when they play he rarely makes any noise, and the dog will do the play growling thing they do, sometimes the dog will be pinned and do a short whimper and sometimes a quiet yelp, the cat only meows when the dog is biting his paws but I'm fairly sure neither intend any harm.

They both will initiate playing, either the Dog will jump around the Cat or the Cat will pounce on the dog and I don't notice any signs of anxiety when they're around each other and when they play it's fairly give and take though it's clear the cat is much stronger, the Cat today was being rough and the Dog would jump up to me afterwards and I wasn't sure if it was trying to get me to save her from the Cat or if she wanted the bag of treats behind me on the couch, it seemed more like excited dog behavior than asking for help.

Are their any warning signs I should look out for when they're playing? At what point should I break it up?
