We have two budgies at home and currently no other animals. The thing is, my grandmother has a cat, and she abuses it since it was a kitty. My mom and I never took it because we didn’t have the money to house the cat, finances are getting better so we bought budgies but now we’re considering taking the cat as well. It seems mentally ill, I don’t know how to describe it and I’m not a vet but its behavior just seems off, for example everytime we visit, it just jumps on me and kneads me almost painfully, and it refuses to get off me. If I recall correctly it’s 3 years old. I was wondering if it was rationally possible to house it despite having budgies? Should we cut its claws for safety and keep the budgies’ cage closed?
