first and foremost; this is my first post on reddit but i am a silent scroller
so our dog seems to be having some kind of allergic reaction. we we’re feeding her science diet and noticed after the formula change she started pawing at her mouth but she also scratches intensely behind her front legs and around her collar, so much she’s itched some patches..
took her to the vet and they said to keep her on the same food and they ran some tests, that seemed to me done half assed... spend a couple of bills on that appointment to be told they didn’t have an answer but if it procedes to take her back..
well since then we’ve tried nutra and blue buffalo. although they seem to help she’s still irritated in those spots so i’m wondering if it could be anything else around the house.
she is a 2 year old lab mix, never had problems before. has all her shots and takes medication for fleas and ticks. we have another dog younger than her and he does not have these symptoms.
we definitely want to take her back to the vet but i’m hesitant because we didn’t get any useful feedback the last time.
any input or ideas from one dog fam to another?
