JUST SOME BACKGROUND: So I have a poodle, he's a pure bread and he's AKC registered, I got him in May of 2019 from an older couple that claimed they didnt want him anymore because he made it difficult for them to travel. From what they told me they were very strict with him ( he wasnt aloud on furniture and he was never allowed on anyones lap, they hardly took him on walks or anything, the only other time he was out of his cage is if he had to go to the bathroom and he had little to no interaction with their other pets, which they kept inside, he was in the garage) the situation was all too stange but when I took him home he was beyond ecstatic and he was so excited and curious because of the new not so structured environment ( I would have considered his old one borderline abusive)
OK NOW TO THE POINT: >> keep in mind HE DIDN'T START DOING THIS UNTIL NOVEMBER 2019 AND I CAN'T THINK OF ANYTHING THAT COULD HAVE TRIGGERED HIM TO DO THIS, I also bought him a bed of his own he just refuses to use it because he's gotten so use to being aloud to sleep on the bed with me<< every night when I lay down to go to sleep he lays on my legs or literally draped across me then anytime I move he freaks out and starts growling, I tried to put him is his bed and even though we were in two separate places (his is bed on the floor next to mine) and I wasn't even touching him he still growled and snarled every time I rolled over or moved ( when he does this he isn't even doing it at me or towards me most of the time he's looking in a completely different part of the room) And then even after I stop moving he continues to growl and snarl and it's like he's dazed but can't snap out of what he's doing Then once I finally get him calmed down and asleep he starts whimpering. In his sleep. Sometimes it sounds like he's screaming but his eyes are closed, I'm not sure if I'm doing the right thing but I've been waking him up because I hate seeing him in so much pain, what could be causing this? Is there anything i can do to help him or fix it?
