Ive got this.. thing, chihuahua X, a result of an unplanned litter and the mother attempted to reject the pupper, feeling bad I tried to encourage the mum to care for him, which worked in the end.
~6months later till now, a year he screams, s c r e a m s like someone is skinning him alive anytime someone comes to our door, whether it be us, the people who feed and care for him and who he sleeps with every night, or a delivery, or the neighbours being jerks next door and scaring our dogs while watering their garden, it doesnt help that he runs and hides and continues to scream, I wonder what our neighbours must think we're doing to the poor guy.
Ive tried treats, ignoring him, encouraging him to play with a toy, anything to distract him before his panic attacks hits him hard.
We've gone to the vet and they suggested training to no avail, and cant see anything physically wrong with him.
The only times he doesnt scream is when I can rush him outside and close the door so he cant hear or see someone coming home/over.
Other than the above he is a wonderful companion, loves to play fetch and is house trained, a very talkative dog.
