I got my beautiful kitten from a hoarding situation (friend from works mother had 9 cats, 4 kittens, 4 dogs in a crazy packed house). She was born in September and I got her just after Thanksgiving, so she is about 22 weeks old and I got her at about 10-12 weeks old. She had fleas when I got her and was told she would probably be reluctant to be social but she's been very attached to me since day one (even though I had to give her multiple baths!), which is why I named her Shadow. My concern is that if she's on me she NEEDS to be licking my skin. I thought it was a kitten thing when she first came but now it's worse than ever. It gets uncomfortable so I'll cover my arms and hands with my sleeves and then she'll go for my neck. Even if I create a barrier with my hands and arms she'll use her while body strength trying to get to my bare skin. She's even meowed in distress when I cover up with blankets because she won't stop licking. I can't even stand having her in the bedroom at night because of this. .. but I love her so much! Any advice as to why she is doing this and what I can do to make it better?
