Hi r/pets,
Our 6 year old, 20 lb pomeranian/american eskimo mix disappeared around 11am on Tuesday. For some context, we have two gates leading up to our house. One gate (Gate 1) is on the street and leads up to some steps that stops at another gate (Gate 2). Here's the timeline
At 11:02, a repairman came to our house. Our Ring camera shows our dog friendly and asking for attention from the repairman. Suddenly, his ears perk up and he runs barking toward Gate 2 (which is out of shot from the Ring camera)
At 11:02, our neighbor's camera (which has a view of Gate 1 and 2), shows some animal walking across Gate 2 -- it's unclear if this is our dog or another animal. Really hoping it's not a coyote, which we have plenty of in the neighborhood.
At 11:03, our neighbor's camera shows our dog walking across Gate 2 and he seems unprovoked and calm. He exits the frame and that's it. Nothing else shows in video.
At 11:12, the repairman leaves out of the gates and we realize our dog is missing
We've checked the property thoroughly for any holes or openings in the fencing -- there are none. We also watched our neighbors camera, which has a wide view of the street, until 11:25. No animal ever leaves our property - dog or coyote.
It's just such a mystery...any thoughts?
(Video is here -- you'll notice the shadowy creature around 0:00-0:03 and see our dog walk from that same direction around 1:07-1:10. The shadowy creature never came into the frame again to where our dog was. There is no evidence of any struggle, no blood, no fur, etc.)
