Need advice for this dog.

Hi, I took a high paying job on Rover to watch Popeye, the bulldog.

Popeye's owners told me not to touch his head and to be tough when trying to put the leash on him. Because, he would try to bite me when I put the leash on him.

At first it wasn't so bad, Popeye just seemed really horny around my leg, and wanted some affection and I liked him.

Then the next morning happened.

He did not just try to bite me when I tried to put the leash on him. He tried to bite me yesterday when I touched one of his toys on his bed. He bit me yesterday morning when I tried to give him a piece of food to get him out of his cage. He bit me TWICE today, once when I tried to put the leash on him, he tried biting once, twice, bit my leg. I had to pin him to a wall to get him to stop and whispered lightly to him : "popeye, it's okay."

He also won't respond to voice commands or a request to come out, he just sort of looks at you and if you get too close he growls.

I went into the room he was in, took a loud step in he charged at me RAGING to bite my foot, and at that point I'd had enough. I pinned him to the ground and shouted at him, immediately he calmed down and stopped trying to bite me. Out of fear maybe ?

I don't. Like. Putting fear. Into dogs.

I hate this dog, but I don't want him in a toxic environment on my watch.

I put wee wee pads on the floor to deal with his peeing problem, but he won't eat and he won't leave his cage. He is supposed to take medicine, but he won't even touch his food. He has not been outside since he got here two days ago.

I NEED some advice. I tried calling the owner, they are out of the country and their phone isn't working.
