Neutering my cat

I have a female cat and the last couple of days have gone without sleep because she's in heat season and desperately wants to go outside. So, tomorrow I'm taking her to undergo surgery and get her neutered. This really breaks my heart, but I can't afford the time, money or place for her to have kittens. I've read a lot of articles and whatnot about the personality changes that will take over. But, my cat is already a bit untrusting of me. I'm not allowed to pet her for a long time before she disappears, whenever I'd let her go outside, It'd be a nightmare to try and bring her back in, as she's running away from me all the time. This breed of cat is really wild. I've owned a cat before and I could pick it up and it wouldn't move and it would like to be pet. This one is just afraid of me and I haven't done anything bad to her, except the vaccines. She'd get mad at me when I'd take her to vaccinate her and now I'm afraid that this surgery will make her think of me as the enemy, which might already be the case. So, my question is, will my cat resent me for this?
