4 year-old new (to us) foster cockerdoodle bit GFs face.. advice?

Firstly, she’s okay. She’s more worried about what will happen to the dog. It’s not deep enough for a scar, just a bite mark and rabies shot at the hospital

Just out of no where, the man dropping him off turned to leave out the front gate and the dog bit her in the cheek. A second after, he acted like nothing happened. He didn’t appear to be provoked. I’ve done a bit of digging to figure out what would cause the dog to lash out like this and maybe some training tips but I can’t find anything substantial.

Hoping you fine reddit folks might be able to point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance.
