So, my cat is about 5 years old and been incredibly skittish her entire life. I found her as a kitten abandoned at my grandmother's house and took her home with me.
She's living with my father for the last year or so because I was forced to move and my apartment didn't allow cats. I thought it'd be good for both of them as my dad is disabled and I thought he'd benefit from companionship while she'd benefit from him being home all the time. However, she's been vomiting a lot and tearing up furniture so he wants her out.
Anyway, I'm beginning my medical residency and I'm extremely worried about how often and for how long she's going to be left alone during the day. She's just so anxious and it kills me to think about her being scared and unhappy (to the point that I'm full-on bawling right now despite being a grown-ass man).
I really don't know what to do or how to help her. Any advice?
