My cat had one tooth extracted during a cleaning one day ago. She has been prescribed .2 ml of buprenex every 12 hours and has gotten two "doses". One I had to put in a lickable treat to get her to take it. The other, I believe ended up mostly on her cheek, although I tried to rub some on her lips to make sure she got something?? She has been eating canned cat food and has been extremely hungry since her procedure. Is this normal? She is sitting next to her food dish and gets up and runs to it constantly to wait for food. Also, my vet didn't mention a follow-up check up to see how healing is going. They said they would call in 2-3 days and that's it. Is that okay or should I be concerned about an infection going unnoticed, etc.? Of course I've read horror stories online. This was all a weird experience since we are in the middle of a pandemic. Any info is appreciated!
