Found a kitten outside

I've found a stray kitten outside whos (presumable) mother had an unfortunate bump in with a fox, What do I do to help but not harm the kitten? There were two kittens but the other disappeared which i'd wager was also the fox's doing so I'll have to be getting rid of that guy

I've only given it food and water, and it's taken its made a home under my mothers porch

I don't want to uproot it from where it is, but I don't want it to become dependent on my parents or me

I can't do any yard work without the kitten following me and playing with my feet, and I always feel bad going inside as it'll just sit at the door meowing like crazy
