I know this has probably been asked a million times, but I'm kind of desperate. Two weeks ago my family adopted a 6 month old cat. The previous owner claimed the cat was dog-friendly. We have two red heelers who are pretty well behaved, the girl dog can be territorial though. I've brought the cat out of the room she's in, and sit with her when she's around the dogs. The dogs sniff for a while, maybe stare but they move on. But if the cat hears or sees a dog, she starts growling. They've gotten in fights before and she usually initiated them. Besides the issue with the dogs, she is SO loving and precious. I cannot stand to get rid of her. People say to introduce them slowly, but I have no idea what that means. Any one have any advice? Maybe a guide on how they got their pets to tolerate eachother? I know they won't be best friends, but I want them to be able to be in the same room as eachother without going ballistic. Please help!!
