I’m hoping someone here has experienced the same issue and found a solution, we’re at our wits end!
Our 5 yr old pit bull/American bulldog mix has started pooping inside. She was potty trained for years...but now sometimes when she’s sleeping she just starts going. It also occasionally happens when she’s very excited. It’s always “healthy”, never loose or diarrhea (Thank god). While on a walk, she’ll sometimes start pooping while walking as well. We’ve had her x-rayed, her muscles tested, her feces tested....and the vet can’t find ANYthing wrong.
We had to re-crate her at night now, hoping that this would help. But unfortunately she occasionally just poops in her crate ... which makes me really think she doesn’t know she’s doing it. We don’t punish her anymore either, as the vet thinks that might just add to the stress and not solve the problem since she can’t seem to control it.
She’s otherwise happy and seemingly healthy. No other signs of a degenerative disease that might cause this.
I’ve searched high and low in the internet and aside from finding one other person with the exact same issue, there have been no solutions. Help!!!
