Hello. I have recently adopted a cat. I’m worried that he will sneak through the door when I open it or someone in my family opens it. He was an outdoor cat before. So far I have only had him go up to the front door when I open it but he does this with every door I open in the house like rooms. My cat got into a horrible fight when he was an outdoor cat (I was not the owner when he was an outdoor cat) and he could have gotten really sick if they did not surrender him to the shelter for them to treat his wound.
I purchased an extra tall baby gate and those deterrents that spray air when it senses motion close. I’m worried because I read that the deterrent doesn’t always go off for some people. What is something else I can put in front of the door to stop him from going there when someone comes in or goes out?
