Hello :(
As you can tell from the post title, my new kitty has fleas. I am frantically scrounging the internet for solutions and I seem to have a general idea. I am a student living in a school-funded apartment (so hopefully they can help).
What I'd really like to know is if I need to Isolate him in the bathroom until this situation is resolved. I'd hate to do it because he's only been here a week, but I am trying so hard to keep this kitten as healthy as possible. He has a vet appointment scheduled for the 29th, but I think I might call them tomorrow to be able to bring him in.
Some other questions:
Am I good to sleep on my bedding?
My friend just left me to take care of her doggy too. She won't be back in a month :/ I just left her dog at her apartment (we are neighbors) while I address the situation. My cat has been over at my friend's place as well. Does her apartment need to be deep cleaned too? Kitty has been over there a maximum of 3 hours total.
How screwed is my apartment considering he's only been here a week? I am a meticulous cleaner when I need to be, but I also have an internship and summer classes so I'm up to my head in work. It would be nice if (since he got the fleas from a shelter) I wouldn't have to vacuum my entire place every single day. I won't hesitate to do it if I have to do though.
Do I only have to wash all of my sheets once? I don't think I can even afford to wash them every day. He sleeps in bed with me so I've already thrown everything that I can in the washer.
I think that's all of the questions :( please help, this is all brand new to me and I just want kitty to be healthy
Edit: One more question. I am in walking distance of a walmart, but I don't have my car here so I can't drive to any pet stores to pick anything up. Anything essential I should get from walmart? As I finish typing this I am going to get a flea comb and lemons, but that's all I know to pick up.
