Odd After-Bath Behavior

(If I'm in the wrong sub, or this is just a dumb question, I'm sorry)

So after I wash my cat, I let him lick himself and dry off and go pout about being wet for a little while and then join him in my bedroom after cleaning up. I've noticed he acts super different after his baths. He starts by rubbing up against me a lot and I assume he just wants cuddles after icky bath time, but he'll turn away and start rubbing on my desk, then my pillow, then back to me- no wait the desk. Like he'll bounce between wanting pets and rejecting me to rub on my stuff. I get that cats rub their faces on stuff the spread their scent and all, but he just got bathed, so he wouldn't really be spreading a scent right after a bath?
