What are some reasons why a cat might puke undigested food couple hours after eating? Any vets here?

She puked just once and acting normal, ate twice since. I will take her to the vet if anything alarming happens of course. This is more a curiosity question to better understand feline health/likelihood of stuff to pay more attention on other things I see. So anecdotal experience really helps.

  • She never overeats nor eats fast. She eats like 5-7 small meals throughout the day, 4 of them wet food, the rest dry food.

  • 2 nights ago she has has 6-8 back to back visible lower abdominal contractions while she was lying on her side relaxed. Shortly after eating. No puking happened.

  • Last night at 3 am, about 2-3 hours after she had her last dry food, she woke up licking her lips and swallowing, and puked. The kibble pieces were full, there was some wet food too although she had wet food at 6pm. Earlier that day, in the afternoon, there were thunders for 2 hours and she was scared of them, hid under the bed. She didn't eat any new food. However, her breakfast might have stayed outside like half an hour longer than usual before she finished it. I was also couple hours late to give her hairball remedy malt paste due to the thunderstorm.

  • She was fully energetic after puking. Even had the zoomies. She ate a few kibble pieces before she went back to sleep. I do NOT however see her bowel movements as she does them in the yard and hides.

What does this sound like? I read if it's yellow bile, it's more likely to be hairballs for example. Regurtiation is usually something wrong with the food/she didn't like the taste. What about this kind of vomiting?
