Why are my feral cats so friendly?

Hey! This is not a complaint, I'm super grateful! I just don't know how this can be lol.

February 2020, I adopted two beautiful maine coons, bothers Julius and Butterscotch. They turned 2 a month ago and lived in the wild until about 2 weeks before I adopted them.

They're super sweet. Butters basically cuddles all day with me and sleeps in the window. Julius is more aloof but just the other day let me start petting him without anxiety. They can be shy, but that is the extent of any "problems". Zero bathroom issues, zero aggression, and zero attempts to go outside at all.

I'm beyond thankful they're enjoying indoor life after all, but I was told something like if a cat doesn't live indoors before age 1 they never can live in a house. How can my boys be so well behaved and loving?

I'd love to hear what y'all have to say, especially other feral adopters! Tysm!!!
