I just need to type this nonsense out. I apologize if it's not fitting and totaly understand if it's pulled.
So! I moved home about 3 years ago just after my parents had taken in a cat. He hung around for at least two years prior; beating up my other cat and stealing cat food from the barn. Once my old cat (samwise) died this new cat my mom has since dubbed "hobo" because he's a "travelin' man" started getting closer. He'd watch mom riding her horse and would still eat the cat food in the barn (now there for him, lol) One day she managed to coax him indoors. Now he goes in and out as he pleases. Spends most of the days in a sunspot on the carpet and most of his nights mousing.
Anyway, when I moved home I was warned he's not very affectionate and will bite if you pat him too much.... Well I wasn't having any of it and proceeded to shower him with affection. I forget how I discovered it but hobo LOVES being slapped like a Bongo drum... Like, he lives for it. Either way, this cat and I love eachother nowadays. He follows me like a dog. It's insane. I know he's going to be safe, Im sure I'll be safe but all I can think about within the last two days is leaving this cat! It's honestly kind of getting to me. Example a: I'm on Reddit typing this out.
I'm not really looking for advice, because what can someone even say? I'm just worried that because he had decided to start coming in days before I moved home....will he become a "travelin' man" again when I leave? The moment that crossed my mind I began to worry! I won't lie, I've got some anxiety problems and this isn't helping one bit.
He's adjusted to home life. That I can guarantee you - so I don't think he'll go. However, I literally JUST remembered that apparently a lady waaay down the road had him neutered and gave him all his shots not long after he randomly showed up. Then he vanished and came our way....Hmmm...Id really forgotten that. Damn.. That's what I guess for typing this out.
Oops..
