We had to put one of our cats down last night. We have a small open concept house with a ladder that leads to the loft. Our cat Sage lives there because one of our other cats doesn’t get along with him, and he gets stressed very easily. They have access through the kitchen. The cat we put down hung out and kept him company up in the loft and now he doesn’t have any other frequent cat visitors. We have tried to get him comfortable with coming down to the living room but our cat basil always swats or hisses at him and he scurries back to the loft. We come up multiple times a day to spend time play and feed him, but we don’t want him to be alone and want to try both him and Basil to get along. Does anybody have any recommendations?
