Today is the first day of me adopting my very first Yorkie. She’s 2 years old and she seemed very loving with her past owners who had to get rid of her due to the landlord. Before she made it inside my home she instantly ran off and I had to chase behind her, once I grabbed her leash when I saw that she slowed down she bit me. I want to see if I can gain her trust, but I really don’t know where to start. She’s inside my home and I’m giving her space to process this big change to her, I don’t hate her for biting me I understand that this is all very new to her and adapting will be hard at first. I don’t want to get bit again. Yorkies tend to be sometimes aggressive but I really want to make things work between me and her. Any tips would be amazing if you guys can get me through this journey with her please feel free to help me figure out my little situation. I also own two other cocker spaniels in my home who are sweet, I haven’t had them meet her yet because I’ve separated them but I just feel like I’m waiting until she’s comfortable in my home to have them cross paths in here without putting so much pressure on her!
