My cat is 4 years old, and 13 pounds. The vet said he should be closer to 10. The thing is, he doesn’t seem to overeat, i give him a small bowl of food and he never even gets to the bottom. The problem is he is extremely lazy. He has so many toys, but doesn’t play with anything. He sleeps all day and gets no exercise. I try to make designated times throughout the day to play with him, with a laser pointer or wand, but he is just not interested. The only toy he will play with on occasion is the rings that come off of milk jug caps. He bats those around, but within minutes of giving it to him it’s under the fridge or in a vent, so that’s kind of a bust. Does anyone have any suggestions on ways to help him lose weight? I am worried about him continuing to gain and having a very hard time getting him back to baseline. 3 pounds overweight in itself isn’t too bad, but every time we go to the vet his weight has increased. Any advice would be appreciated :)
