hi. i have a puppy whos about to turn two in december. he’s a great dog, however, he still won’t shit outside. when he was a puppy, he had a lot of trouble with getting potty training down. it took almost a year to get him to semi consistently go pee outside and even with that, he still wouldn’t poop outside. i tried absolutely everything, and i obviously consistently let him outside, i did everything you would normally do to potty train a dog (i’ve had three other dogs of the same breed, two of which are still alive and they never had this issue.) there’s nothing wrong with him health wise physically, no infections/diseases/etc (trust me, we’ve checked). however, it’s very likely he has canine dysfunctional behavior according to the vet. i’m wondering if that’s why he has trouble getting down the idea of going outside. even if he watches his sisters go outside, the most he will do is pee, then come inside later and shit on the floor. ive told him this is bad, and i’m pretty sure he knows it’s bad, i just don’t know how to get him to stop. my dogs are my absolute world and i just need some help figuring this out. thank you.
