I have a 3 and a half month old kitten who recently learned to drink properly. Prior to that I’d mixed water with her dry food so she always got what she needed but whenever she tried to drink water from her bowl she just dunked her nose in and sneeze.
She’s now started drinking normally but in the last couple of days she’s started swatting the water with her paw and kicking it all out of her bowl and over the floor. She mainly does this when she’s in a playful mood so I think she thinks it’s fun rather than she’s trying to drink from her paws and failing.
I don’t want her to play in her water if possible because it’s making a huge mess and damaging our floors and carpets (yes even when the water is on a tray she’s playing in it so much it gets out and everywhere - had to bring a dehumidifier in the other day!)
Does anyone have any tips to get her to stop playing in water?
Thank you!
