New cat — not sure if I should be concerned about loud meowing and a peeing incident

I adopted my cat (3 year old male) a month ago. He is very nervous if I get too close (I think he was traumatized in his last home), so I haven't pet him or anything, but he eats and drinks normally, will take treats from me, has been using his litter box normally, and loves to play with the laser pointer and stuffed mouse, so I think he's adjusting.

Last week, I had to call a vet to my house because he had an ear infection that was affecting his eye and he wouldn't let me close enough to put him in the crate to bring him to a vet. The vet gave him a long-lasting topical antibiotic ointment and the infection seems to have cleared up.

However, since then, he's been meowing loudly at me during the night, which he wasn't doing the first couple of weeks. He was playing with his stuffed mouse all night, but now he only plays for a couple of minutes. He also peed in my bed today; he's never done that before, he's always used the litter box. I scoop the box every day. The last time I completely changed all the litter and cleaned the entire box was probably 10 or so days ago; it didn't seem that dirty but I just changed it all again anyway in case that was the problem.

I guess my question is should I be concerned? The loud meowing and lack of playing at night makes me wonder if he's anxious, if he's sick, or if he's just trying to talk to me. I don't know if this is just residual anxiety from when the vet came and if it'll wear off. And even though the bed peeing was a one-time thing for now, I'm worried about that too. But he does everything else normally — still eats his food and loves treats and he seems alert and curious about things happening outside the window.

I could try to have the at-home vet come again, but it was a much larger expense than I had anticipated (the shelter I adopted him from said he hasn't had any health problems or medications since 2019, but now I'm not sure how true that was...) and I'm just not sure what to do. Just want him to feel okay and get comfy in his new home :(
