She was calm at first, and very attentive to her kittens. A few days ago, it seems she had a personality shift. She started chirping,(it's actually the exact noise she made when she was in heat) then got up while the kittens were feeding, and plopped herself outside of the enclosure her kittens are in. A minute or two later, she went back in and let them feed. A few hours later, she was looking under my recliner, then back at the kittens. After leaving for a few hours, I came back to 3 of the 5 kittens missing and under the recliner.
She hasn't tried to hide them since then and is still attentive to her kittens. She lets them feed, cleans them, etc., but she's still chirping all the time and I don't know why. She'll do it while she's cleaning/feeding the kittens, she'll do it randomly while walking around the house, or to something, every time I pet/interact with her, when she wants tuna or my attention for any reason, etc.,
She also sometimes twitches her tail as if she's aggravated, even while lying down unbothered. When she does it, she kinda squints her eyes and there's a glaze, as if she's focusing on something. She makes the same face when she crouches/lies down in a weird way at times as well. Again, similar to when she was in heat.
She's also more aggressive in certain situations, like when I give her wet food/tuna. She'll sometimes growl while eating and eats treats/wet food much faster than ever. She also "plays" with this mouse on a string toy I have, by catching it in her mouth, growling, then not letting go, similar to a dog playing tug of war.
I took her to the vet for this, brought her kittens as well. They said she's fine. Her weight is great, the kittens look great, etc.
This isn't normal behavior for her, so any insight on what it could be, would be appreciated.
Edit; Just wanted to let you know, she isn't aggressive all the time. Every time I pet her, she leans into, and enjoys, it, just as she used to, she just chirps. She also sits on my lap more than usual, and even tried sucking my nipple earlier today. lol.
