Mandatory: on mobile, English is first language but I'm shite at it so sorry for any mistakes or bad grammar.
So we picked up two kittens yesterday evening from a shelter, they look about 7 weeks old. (I know, way too young to be away from their mom and separated.) They're both girls, and apparently are related. They were probably dumped together and got separated and somehow ended up back at the same shelter a few days later. One of the kitties is extremely bloated, her breathing is very fast and shes very frightened of us.
I looked up why she could be this way but didn't get any definite answers, besides vet; Immediately, but since it's a Sunday our local vet is closed so we're going tomorrow. I'm just trying to figure out how to help her in the meantime without scaring her away too much.
I'm also wondering if theres any chance she may have been mistreated or abused. She hid behind the couch for a few hours, she hisses a lot, at us, our other cats (1yearM and 10wF) and at her sister sometimes, she has a small bruise on her nose and is very aggressive about her food (snarling, spitting and growling). If these are bad signs can anybody give me advice on how to make her more comfortable?
Thanks in advance 🐱
