Recently, I got a longhaired cat. She's very skittish and shy but also very sweet. I've never had a long haired cat so I've never had to use the brush really, but her hair is starting to become knotty and matted in some places, mostly on her stomach. I'm really worried to use scissors and she does love to be brushed but not so much on her stomach. I want to help her without hurting her or making her fear me. Any advice?
