Hello, r/pets! My cat, Franco, had a vet visit about two weeks ago to receive treatment for an ear infection and a bladder infection. I assumed it was a urinary tract infection as he was in the litter every ten minutes or so despite not actually urinating. The vet gave him an injection of an antibiotic for the bladder infection and a bottle of medicated drops for his ears. His ears are no longer bothering him, but he is still in and out of the litter frequently with no urination. We called the vet to explain that there was no change, and he prescribed Prednisone. He’s had two pills so far; one yesterday and one today. There’s still no obvious change. Not only is he in and out of the litter, but he’s also climbing into large potted houseplants or boxes to squat in as if he’s going to urinate, but nothing is coming out.
Does anyone know how long the Prednisone will take before he starts feeling and exhibiting any relief?
