hey everyone! I adopted my lovely kitty a month ago from the local humane society. I have extensive vet records, and other than kitty cold, he was adopted in great health. he’s about a year and two months, lots of energy, super sweet and affectionate.
I noticed about a week ago that he kind of smelled bad, like urine or poop. I checked him out and noticed his anus looked a little inflamed and bloody. he has access to water all the time and he doesn’t appear to have much trouble pooping. I’ve observed him a couple times, no cries, appears relatively easy for him. poop is maybe a little dry, but definitely not abnormal. I tried wetting his food, giving him wet food, pushing tons of water.. still bloody and inflamed. any ideas??
PS - I will be taking him to the vet this weekend or early next week, this is not to take the place of a vet visit. this is just to ease any discomfort for him in the meantime.
