Hello and TIA for any advice, I am very disheartened by the last few months. I don't know what info is relevant, so I'll try to be inclusive and brief:
G is my cat, N is my spouses cat. We moved them in together roughly 7 years ago and they have long worked out their differences. Both female.
2 months ago we adopted O, who is N's brother and they have not seen each other for the last 7 years. All cats are 10-11 years old, and O is twice the size of N, who is twice the size of G. All cats fixed long ago.
G and O don't seem to have any problems and don't really even seem to notice each other.
However, N is bullying O pretty bad. He hides in his cat tree and if he comes out for any reason, N will come out of seemingly nowhere to stalk him back into the tree. She will wake up from a dead sleep to make sure he knows that she's watching him.
O is the definition of gentle giant. He loves humans, being picked up, and has the quietest meow you will ever hear.
O will not come out unless he is in a closed room with us, and then he loves to be pet and cuddle. But in any common areas, he shys way from being pet almost like he's expecting to be assaulted. None of the humans in his life have ever hit him, and I've never witnessed a cat fight either (although my other roommate claims to hear fights at night).
Now its to the point where O is using his cat tree as his litter box. Probably because he is too afraid to hop down to the 4 litter boxes in his immediate area (i'm really trying here).
In fact, he is too timid to eat his food if N is in the room. I'll put it right under his nose and he still refuses until the "coast is clear" which is rare if at all.
I don't mind picking up messes, I get that it happens.
But It really pains me to see this big awesome cat being stalked and controlled by his sister.
I need some Ninja cat lady level advice here. I don't mind providing any environment that will help this be successful. Shit, I literally have 10 litter boxes throughout the house. Toys, cat treats, cat beds galore. What the fuck am I missing?
