Over the last few years (At least 3) my family has started feeding my cat these treats. At first she would eat them alongside her food and that was great and all, but my sister and mother basically just dump the container out in front of her at the sight of her little precious face. She just turned 15 in April and her diet has been 100% temptation cat treats for longer than I can remember or care to admit so I'm trying to give her a longer and happier life these last few years.
I just found out how truly bad they are for cats, and that's not even considering a 100% diet. The temptations have been really expensive and I'm looking for solutions to make both her and my wallet feel better at the end of the day.
I saw some other threads about Temptations but they were more along the lines of treat replacements, I'm looking for basically a whole diet replacement. Should I ease her off of them over a week or so? Just looking for general advice really. What kind of food should I get?
Also, my mother claims that she went to two vets and mentioned the treats and claims that both said the treats were fine. I have a hard time believing her so if there are any good sources out there to sway her away from feeding the addiction that would be greatly appreciated.
