So I got married a year ago now, I had a dog (Siren) and my husband had a cat (blue). My dog does well around cats as she grew up with them, but my husbands cat does not like dogs. We’ve tried introducing them to eachother a few times but blue never learned to be gentle I think, and I think it has something to do with being from a hoarders house. She always scratches as hard as she can and bites even harder, and our fear is that if we really let them out together our cat will scratch too hard at our dog and injure her, or scratch her eye or something.
We really want to let our family be together but we get so scared, anyone have any suggestions please? Either safe ways to bring them together or ways to make her less dangerous? We don’t want to declaw her.
