Hi,
I have 2 cats, adopted together from a shelter. Both around 8-9 years old. They are siblings and spent their life together, with their first owner and now with me and my girlfriend. They have separate litterboxes, and one if them is on a strict diet because he is severly overweight. They get exercised to exaustion almost every day. They have plenty of rest and hiding places available.
The problem is, they really seem to just viscerally hate each other. They are fighting several times a day, mostly over the prime place on a cat tree. The problem is, they are recently doing this in the middle of the night, 5am and they get so loud, they wake my girlfriend every time, and even me sometimes. This is of course highly inconvinient since our wake up time is around 8am.
These are our first cats and don`t really know how to adjust their behavior in this case. Previously we untaught them from meowing for food in the morning by just ignoring them. Now if we ignore them, they just get louder, fight, wait 5 minutes and fight again several times. Is there some way to stop this from happening?
