Does my cat have depression?

I know the title may sound stupid but ive been thinking about this for a while and i thought i might ask people that might know, so heres the story:

Basically i had 2 bengal cats, one brown and one white. The brown one was a girl named Hera while the white was a male names Zeus. They both had the same father so they didnt really have any issues with living together.

We lived off of a semi-busy road so we did our best to keep them within the garden - we had fences, wire netting at an angle on top of said fences to stop them climbing over and we even tried rollers however Hera always found a way out. Unfortunately, in early December, Hera was hit by a car and we didnt find out until someone had taken her to the vet to identify her through microchip and she was already dead.

After she left us, my other cat Zeus slowly slept more and more through out the day, came downstairs less and ate less. So im wondering, is it possible he has depression over losing my other cat? If so is there anything i can do to help?

Hes slowly getting better but hes still not the same as he used to be. Thank You.
