I've had dogs for my entire life, and I've never seen one have a reaction to just the smell of ticks like this before! So when I pull a tick off of her, she'll want to investigate so I'll hold it in the tweezers for her to smell, she won't lick it, she just smells. It's an instant reaction-she shakes her head, gags and foams at the mouth for a good 10 or 15 seconds.
At first I thought it may be the preventative, but she had the exact same reaction to a spider I killed once, but oddly enough not to wasps though.
I'm mainly just curious if any of you have dogs that do this and maybe why you think they do it, I've only found one old post online about it.
